When you feel better, you want to look the part

Many of our patients come to Vigour for hormone balance first. Once their energy, sleep and mood return, they notice the mirror hasn’t caught up. Declining estrogen and testosterone are linked to thinner skin and reduced collagen, which shows up as deeper lines and hollowing in the cheeks and under the eyes.

Botox and fillers address those visible changes directly. Paired with balanced hormones and good skin care, they help your outside match how you feel inside.

What is Botox Cosmetic?

Botox Cosmetic is a purified protein injected in tiny amounts into specific facial muscles. It relaxes the muscle movement that creates “dynamic” wrinkles, the lines that form when you frown, squint or raise your brows.

Areas commonly treated with Botox:

  • Frown lines (the “11s” between the brows)
  • Forehead lines
  • Crow’s feet around the eyes
  • Vertical neck bands

What to expect: Treatment takes about 15 minutes. Results begin to appear in 3 to 5 days, are fully visible at about two weeks, and typically last 3 to 4 months. With regular treatments, many patients find lines become less pronounced over time.

What are semi-permanent facial fillers?

Semi-permanent fillers are smooth gels made from hyaluronic acid, a substance your skin already produces to hold moisture and volume. Injected beneath the skin, they replace volume lost with age and soften “static” lines that are visible even when your face is at rest.

They are called semi-permanent because your body gradually and naturally breaks them down. Depending on the area and product, results typically last 6 to 18 months. If needed, hyaluronic acid filler can also be dissolved, which gives patients an added margin of control.

Areas commonly treated with fillers:

  • Smile lines (nasolabial folds)
  • Marionette lines from the corners of the mouth
  • Cheeks and mid-face volume
  • Lips, for subtle shape and fullness
  • Under-eye hollows
  • Jawline and chin contour

Botox or filler: which is right for me?

The simplest way to think about it: Botox relaxes, filler restores.

Botox Cosmetic Semi-permanent fillers
What it does Relaxes muscles that cause expression lines Restores volume and fills static lines
Best for Frown lines, forehead lines, crow's feet Smile lines, cheeks, lips, under-eyes
Results appear 3–5 days, full at ~2 weeks Immediately, settling over ~2 weeks
Results last About 3–4 months About 6–18 months, by area
Downtime Little to none Little to none; possible swelling or bruising
Many patients benefit from both: Botox for the upper face and filler for the mid and lower face. Dr. Bobbitt will recommend a plan based on your anatomy and goals, not a package.

What happens at your appointment

1. Consultation

Dr. Bobbitt reviews your health history, medications and goals, and examines your facial structure.

2. Personalized plan

You’ll agree on which areas to treat, how much product to use and what results to expect.

3. Treatment

Injections take 15 to 45 minutes depending on the areas. Most fillers contain a numbing agent for comfort.

4. Aftercare

You can return to most normal activities the same day. We’ll go over simple aftercare, such as avoiding strenuous exercise for 24 hours.

5. Follow-up

A two-week check lets us confirm you’re happy with the results and make small refinements if needed.

Safety and side effects

Botox and hyaluronic acid fillers are among the most commonly performed aesthetic treatments in the United States. Common side effects are mild and short-lived: redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising at injection sites. Less often, Botox can cause a temporary droop of the brow or eyelid.

Fillers carry a rare but serious risk of injection into a blood vessel. That’s why training and facial anatomy expertise matter. Dr. Bobbitt’s background in surgery of the head and neck gives him a detailed understanding of the structures beneath the skin.

These treatments are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for people with certain neuromuscular conditions. We’ll review your full health history at consultation.

Look your best for the holidays

Holiday parties, family photos and year-end events all land within a few weeks. If you want to look rested and refreshed for them, timing matters.

  • Botox: Book at least two weeks before your event. Results begin in 3 to 5 days and are fully visible at about two weeks.
  • Fillers: Book two to four weeks ahead. Results are immediate, but any swelling or bruising needs time to settle.

For mid-December parties, that means booking by late November or the first days of December. Holiday appointments fill quickly, so call early.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do Botox and fillers cost in Cincinnati?

Cost depends on the number of areas, the units of Botox and the syringes of filler needed. We provide a clear quote at your consultation before any treatment.

Does it hurt?

Most patients describe Botox as a quick pinch. Fillers include lidocaine, a numbing agent, and topical numbing can be applied first.

Will I look frozen or overfilled?

Not with a conservative approach. Dr. Bobbitt uses only the amount needed to soften lines while keeping natural expression.

How long do results last?

Botox typically lasts 3 to 4 months. Hyaluronic acid fillers last about 6 to 18 months depending on the area treated.

Can I get Botox and filler on the same day?

Yes. Many patients combine them in one visit. Dr. Bobbitt will advise what makes sense for you.

Can I get injectables if I'm on hormone therapy?

Yes. Hormone therapy is not a barrier to Botox or fillers. Let us know about all your medications and supplements so we can plan safely.

How far ahead should I get Botox before a holiday party or event?

About two weeks for Botox, and two to four weeks for fillers. That gives results time to fully develop and any swelling time to settle.
