What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a method of exfoliating that consists of using a #10 scalpel blade to gently scrape off the top layer of dull, dead skin cells in order to reveal a smoother brighter complexion. This procedure also removes that “peach fuzz” that so many women complain about thus making the skin better prepared to absorb products, as well as creating a flawless canvas so that makeup glides on smoothly. Some women are afraid that the hair on their face (called vellus hair) will grow back darker and heavier. This is NOT true. This superficial hair will grow back at the same rate and with the same texture as it was before the treatment.

Dermaplaning is recommended for all skin types except for those with acne.

If you have deep cystic acne, you must wait until the breakouts are clear before trying this treatment.  This is a great treatment for women who are pregnant or nursing who want exfoliation without the use of harsh chemicals.

There are no side effects and zero downtime.

You will immediately look more radiant with a more even skin tone and texture.  Dermaplaning removes 21 days worth of dead skin cells so it is best to allow the skin to complete it’s rejuvenation cycle before your next treatment.  Your skin will be more sensitive to sun exposure and may be pink so you must be sure to wear a broad spectrum sunscreen of at least SPF 30.
